Kids (1995) - Larry Clark was a large inspiration for this project.
Software used: Zbrush, Substance Painter, Mari, Maya, Redshift, Houdini, Davinci:
I sculpted this body with an emphasis on back anatomy from references from Kids (Larry Clark seems to have a particular interest in these)
The pattern of baggy jeans was made up, I pulled some measurements form a pair of Polar Big Boy jeans I had.
The jeans where textured in Substance Painter
The body diffuse was projected onto the body in Mari
The environment was modeling in Maya and Houdini
Hair was created in Maya with Xgen
Water simulation in Houdini with variable viscosity and exported as alembic to Maya where the scene was rendered in Redshift. Age was used to drive shader attributes like backlighting in RS material
Final color grading in Davinci
